Five men arrested by detectives investigating violent dissident republican activity, have been released following questioning.

The men aged 26, 27, 38, 44 and 51 were arrested in the Poleglass area of west Belfast on Thursday.

They were taken to Musgrave Police Station in Belfast for questioning.

Further searches were later carried out in the Belfast area, as well as Larne and Ballymena and a number of vehicles have been seized.

On Saturday, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said the investigation remains ongoing.
