Properties evacuated as terrace fire spreads to roof

A number of properties have been evacuated after a house fire spread to the roof space in a row of terraces in Leicester.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called to a house fire in Coral Street in Belgrave on Friday afternoon.

The fire service said eight fire engines, including an aerial ladder platform, were at the scene.

Residents have been told to close their windows and doors while motorists were warned to expect delays.

The fire service added there were "no reports of casualties".
