Highbridge recycling centre has been closed by police

A recycling centre has closed after a suspected explosive device was found, police said.

Avon and Somerset Police was called to Highbridge recycling centre, in Somerset, at around 10:20 BST on Saturday following reports of suspected ordnance.

"An army explosive ordnance disposal unit has been contacted and is on route," police said.

The force said officers are on the scene and the site has been closed "as a precaution."
