Man dies from stab wounds following street fight
GoogleA man in his 20s has died in hospital from stab wounds following a fight in the early hours in south London, police said.
The Met Police said it received reports of an assault in Livingstone Road, Thornton Heath, shortly before 0500 BST. Officers attended where they were assisted by members of the public who said a fight had taken place between a group of men which was linked to an earlier altercation in Prince's Road.
The force said the young man had self-presented at a local hospital where he later died. His next of kin have been told and are being supported by specialist officers.
Three men, aged 28, 38 and 44, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
Det Ch Insp Wayne Jolley said: "At this stage, we believe this to be an isolated incident, however, local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while enquiries continue."
He added: "Our thoughts are first and foremost with the victim's family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time."
Anyone with information, or any footage that may assist the investigation, is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers.
