A man has been taken to hospital by air ambulance following a property fire in Wolverhampton.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Westacre Crescent shortly before 16:40 BST on Thursday.

The man was given advanced life support at the scene before being airlifted to Birmingham, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance charity attended the scene," a spokesperson added.
