I turned my entire house pink – now I'm selling it

A house decorated in pink both inside and out and nicknamed "The Pink Palace" by its owner has been put up for sale.

The four-to-five-bed property in Brookside, Sandhurst, which was originally built as a three-bedroom detached bungalow, has been put on the market for £725,000.

Owner Sarah, 46, who lives with her husband and stepson, said she had "loved pink for probably as long as I can remember" and it had "become like a personal brand".

The event consultant has lived in the house for eight years and said the property listing - which describes the house as "immaculately presented throughout" - had had 19,000 views.

Sarah said she had gradually decorated the house room-by-room - and some rooms more than once - over the eight-year period of living there.

"If there's something I can pink-ify, then I will try and pink-ify it," she said.

"When we sell this house and we buy a new house, then I will be doing the whole thing again... it comes with me,"

Sarah said she has been known as "Sarah Pink" in places she has worked at, and that her love for the colour "started to become slightly more obsessive as I got a little bit older".

"I came out of a long-term relationship where my partner at the time wasn't particularly supportive of me decorating how I might like to and using the colours that I might like," she said.

"So once I came out of that I got my own place, and I had this sort of freedom to do what I like - it started from there.

"I started having more and more pink in the house and in the things I would buy, and then it just kind of ran from there really."

She said her husband was "really supportive" and "completely happy to let me decorate as I've wanted to".

Sarah recalled a time when a mum and her two young children were passing by the house.

She said: "They came running up towards the house and the little girl went, oh, Barbie!

"It was really, really cute, and she went all super shy, but they both waved and said hello.

"The reaction can be really lovely."
