A man has been jailed for 25 years for the rape and sexual abuse of two adults and three children.

Adam O'Dee, 37, formerly of Plymouth appeared at Plymouth Crown Court for sentencing on Monday after he was convicted earlier this year of 17 offences in the city.

Among other offences, O'Dee was found guilty of two counts of the rape of a child aged under 13, four counts of sexual assault of a child aged under 13, two counts of rape, as well as one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Officer in the case, Det Con Paul Enticknap, said O'Dee had "shown no remorse or accountability".

O'Dee was also handed a further five years on extended licence.

Victim's 'strength and bravery'

Devon and Cornwall Police said the first reports against O'Dee were received in 2022 when a girl disclosed she had been touched sexually by him. He was later arrested.

Enticknap said: "I welcome the sentence given to Adam O'Dee who has committed truly harrowing offences against women and young children.

"My utmost thanks and praise are with the victims who not only had the courage to report the offences but supported the police investigation and waited patiently to give their evidence in court.

"Their strength and bravery are truly admirable, and I sincerely hope they find closure and start moving forward with their lives following this outcome."

O'Dee was placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
