Following a 12-month trial there were no noise complaints, Warwick District Council heard

A McDonald's fast-food restaurant has been given permission to stay open for 24-hours after a successful trial period.

The outlet, based on the site of a Tesco supermarket on Emscote Road, Warwick, was originally restricted to opening from 06:00 BST until 23:00, following complaints over noise and anti-social behaviour.

However, following a 12-month trial, environmental health officers received "no noise complaints at all" and Warwickshire Police noted that "while there have been some incidents raised, nothing significant," planning officer Rebecca Compton told Warwick District Council's planning committee.

The approval was granted with unanimous backing from councillors.

Compton added: "In [Warwickshire Police's] professional view, this is not a site that they are concerned about in terms of crime or anti-social behaviour.

"They noted the restaurant had been really good in working proactively with police to get those sorted."
