A charity is calling for more support for anyone who experiences a miscarriage.

The Ivy Trust, a miscarriage charity, said it wanted earlier testing in Guernsey, together with a national miscarriage register and improved employment leave policies.

The call comes after the UK charity Tommy's revealed testing women after their first miscarriage, rather than their third, could prevent up to 10,000 losses a year.

Deputy Tina Bury, President of the Employment and Social Security Committee, said: "We regularly meet with our colleagues in Health and Social Care to discuss these kinds of complex and sensitive matters, which form part of our review of the committee's wide mandate."
