A 16-year-old boy has died after the electric motorbike he was riding was involved in a crash with a car in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police said the teenager was on a black electric motorcycle when it collided with a grey Mercedes A200 on Tempest Road in Beeston at about 00:10 BST on Tuesday.

The boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died, the force said.

The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and helped police with their investigations.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, which took place at the junction with Woodview Road, are asked to contact police.
