Cordon removed at scene of dog walker's death
FAMILY PHOTO / WILTSHIRE POLICEA police cordon has been lifted from an area of woodland at the centre of an ongoing murder investigation.
Graham Pennycook, 64, was found dead in the woods next to Perham Down polo field in Ludgershall, Wiltshire on 24 September.
Wiltshire Police said the investigation into his death was continuing "at pace", and the force has released more information about potential witnesses it wants to trace.
Officers want to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area, or who may know someone who disposed of their clothing at the time, or had new and unexplained injuries.
Wiltshire Police also said detectives are keen to hear from anyone walking near the polo ground and surrounding woodland or driving along Somme Road, the unnamed road bordering the polo field, Shoddesden Lane, and the A3026 between 09:00 and 18:00 BST, but "more specifically" 10:00 to 11:00 BST.
Police said Pennycook, who was reported missing when his dog came home without him, was wearing a blue collared t-shirt, a grey zip-up gilet, a dark coloured baseball cap, dark blue shorts, brown walking shoes and reading glasses.
'Heightened police presence'
Det Ch Insp Phil Walker said: "The crime scene and associated cordon have now been lifted after our team of officers completed key forensic examinations at the location
"The removal of the cordon should not be seen as any reduction in our efforts, and dedicated detectives and specialist officers are continuing a range of enquiries to progress the investigation.
"It does not pass me by that the heightened police presence and cordon in the area will have increased anxieties for local people.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of Ludgershall and Perham Down for their continued support and patience, which has enabled us to carry out our enquiries without disruption."
