Welcome To Wrexham streaming series renewed for three more seasons

Hit streaming series Welcome To Wrexham, which has been charting the revival of the city's football team, has been renewed for a further three seasons.

The show has followed the club's back to back to back promotions from the National League to the Championship, since Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds and actor Rob Mac took over.

And their stated aim from the beginning has been to reach the Premier League, currently just one division above their current division.

Reynolds announced the series' renewal to his 50 million Instagram followers, saying "season five premieres May 14 and we've been renewed for three more".

"Congrats to our Emmy-winning doc team, the town, and Wrexham AFC for always making things so dramatic and stressy. Good for TV, bad for blood pressure."

The FX series, which is available through Disney+ in the UK, launched in 2022 chronicling the actors' takeover of the club.

And it has won 10 Emmy Awards and two Critics' Choice Television Awards.

Reynolds and McElhenney bought Wrexham for £2 million in February 2021 and have led the team out of the National League, the fifth division of English football, and just outside the Championship's play-off places which is how they stand a chance of realising their Premiership dreams.

Last year, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said the presence of both men at the club "lifts the whole place".
