Firefighters have been tackling a large blaze on West Yorkshire moorland.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Silsden Road near Silsden at about 15:20 BST on Tuesday, with 12 crews dealing with the fire at its height.

In a video shared by the fire service, crews can be seen walking through smoke-filled woodland with smouldering pockets of fire on the ground.

Water jets and specialist vehicles have been used to help control the flames, with efforts at the scene continuing on Wednesday.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Please avoid the area to allow emergency services to continue their work safely.

"With the current warm, dry conditions, the risk of wildfires remains extremely high."
