Stunning partial eclipse photographs from Sussex

The August full moon, also known as the Sturgeon Moon, lit up the sky on Thursday night and was photographed by Sussex Weather Watchers.

The Sun, Earth and Moon also lined up in the night sky to create a lunar eclipse in parts of the world.

The partial eclipse was visible across the South East from 02:23 BST until 06:51. And in many areas, the Moon took on a reddish appearance.

The next lunar eclipse visible in the UK will be in February 2027.
