Officials want to hear from recreational sea fishers

A survey has opened with the aim of understanding recreational fishing in Jersey.

The Government of Jersey has asked recreational sea fishers in Jersey to complete the survey to help shape future marine management.

It said it would gather information on overall activity, how many fish and which species are caught and where recreational fishing takes place, as well as the social and economic value of this sector.

The results will be brought together in a report, providing evidence of the scale and value of recreational fishing, including its cultural and economic value, the government said.
