Man pleads guilty to murder of woman, 61
West Mercia PoliceA man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a woman who was found dead by emergency services last year.
Julian Thomas, 55, of Brampton Bryan, near Bucknell, Shropshire, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday.
Officers were called to Apple Tree Close in Bromyard, Herefordshire, on 27 September 2025, where the body of 61-year-old Ann Marie Green was discovered.
Thomas also pleaded guilty to assaulting Green some months earlier on 10 July of that year.
Det Ch Insp Gareth Lougher from the West Mercia force described it as a "tragic and deeply distressing incident", adding that officers' thoughts remained with the victim's family and loved ones.
"While no outcome can ever undo their loss, we hope today's guilty plea provides them with some measure of justice and spares them the additional pain of a trial," he said.
Thomas is due to be sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on 15 May.
