Several hovercraft services between Hampshire and the Isle of Wight were cancelled on Saturday following a technical issue and bad weather conditions.

Hovertravel said its Island Flyer suffered a door failure at Southsea at 12:30 BST and passengers were "transferred to an alternative transport option".

Passengers experienced cancellations and delays between Ryde and Southsea throughout the afternoon and evening, affecting people travelling to the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth.

The company said tickets for its cancelled services would be accepted on Wightlink Fast Cat services.
