Murder arrests after man stabbed near park
BBCTwo men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was stabbed.
The attack took place on Thursday on Ridgway Road, Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, police said, with their officers called to the area at about 19:40 BST.
The victim, in his 40s, was found by members of the public near Hanley Park and died at the scene.
The men, aged 25 and 24, from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of murder and a 17-year-old boy, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remained in custody, officers added.
Staffordshire Police said they were also trying to find two other men in connection with the stabbing.
Det Ch Insp Ian Fitzgerald thanked the local community for giving them information as their investigation began.
"I'd urge anyone who we have not spoken to and who thinks they may have relevant information to share with us to get in touch as soon as possible," he added.
