A second lightning storm has hit the West in the space of five days after June temperature records were broken.

Yellow thunderstorm warnings were in place from 00:00 to 10:00 BST across Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

It comes after the region was battered by storms on Monday, which led to the closure of Bristol Airport and a house fire in Emersons Green, Bristol, after it was struck by lightning.

Lightning lit up the sky across Bristol, Wiltshire and Somerset earlier during the fifth consecutive night where temperatures stayed above 20C.
