Candidates standing for Arbory, Castletown and Malew
MANX SCENESSeven candidates will be standing in the Isle of Man's general election for the Arbory, Castletown and Malew constituency.
Set in the south of the island, the constituency includes Castletown and a number of historic sites, including Castle Rushen, Rushen Abbey and the Old House of Keys.
The constituency is largely residential, but also has a strong industrial presence, including the Isle of Man Airport and Ronaldsway Met Office. Rural areas surround the villages of Ballasalla and Colby.
Boundary reforms in 2016 saw the former constituency of Castletown merged with parts of the former Malew and Santon and Rushen constituencies.
Local authorities within the patch are the Arbory ward of Arbory and Rushen Commissioners as well as the boards of Castletown and Malew.
As of October 2025, there were 6,140 people registered to vote in the constituency, which has a population of 7,542, according to 2023 figures from the Electoral Commission.
Of the two MHKs who have represented the area for the past five years, Tim Glover has decided not to seek re-election.

Why are you the right candidate and what are your top three priorities?
I bring to the role strategic thinking, entrepreneurial problem-solving and a willingness to challenge conventional approaches, along with sound financial management and scrutiny skills.
I have served as an Arbory & Rushen Parish Commissioner since 2021, including two years as Chair, and have experience as a director and trustee of both local businesses and an international charity. Through these roles I have worked closely with government, island-wide local authorities, businesses, charities and community organisations, as well as residents from all walks of life. This has given me a broad understanding of the challenges facing our communities and the importance of listening, working collaboratively and delivering results.
I am not standing simply to identify problems. I want to find practical solutions, challenge bureaucracy where it no longer works and make sure taxpayers get value for money.
My priorities are a strong economy, a protected island and an honest government.
