A man has been arrested after police stopped a car and found drugs, cash and scales inside.

West Mercia Police said its officers stopped a "suspicious" vehicle at about 01:00 GMT on the M54, near junction 4 in Telford, Shropshire.

A search of the car unearthed class A drugs which officers said had a street value of £600 to £800, along with £1,000 in cash and weighing scales.

The man, 32, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and remained in police custody as inquiries continued. Police encouraged anyone with information about drug dealing to contact it or Crimestoppers.
