Northern section of Mountain Road reopens
BBCThe northern section of the Isle of Man's Mountain Road has reopened following the completion of maintenance works and tree felling.
The Department of Infrastructure said while the section of the A18 between Ramsey and the Bungalow had been opened, the southern section to the Creg Ny Baa remained closed.
It followed delays to the resurfacing of a section of the carriageway caused by torrential rain, which meant line painting and the installation of verge studs could not be carried out until the surface had cured overnight.
The timing of those works was dependent on the weather conditions, and the remainder of the road will reopen once they were completed on Saturday.
The full closure for works including TT preparations, which began on 7 April, was initially due to be lifted on Friday afternoon.
