The body of a man has been found in the search for a missing American hillwalker.

Timothy Rosser, 60, was last seen after leaving his hotel in Edinburgh before driving to the Glencoe area on Tuesday.

A body was recovered at about 18:50 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said formal identification has yet to take place, but Rosser's family have been informed.

The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The discovery comes after another body was found in a search for a hillwalker who went missing in a separate incident.

Adam Chalmers, 36, was reported missing in the Ben Lawers mountain range on Saturday.

Police Scotland said his family was informed after the body of a man was recovered in the An Stuc area, and there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
