Police launch searches for missing hillwalkers
Police ScotlandPolice have appealed for information to help locate two walkers who have gone missing in separate incidents.
Timothy Rosser, 60, was last seen after leaving his hotel in Edinburgh before driving to the Glencoe area, while 36-year-old Adam Chalmers was reported missing while hillwalking in the Ben Lawers mountain range.
Rosser is an American who is described as white, around 6ft 2 and slim build, with short white hair. Chalmers is also white, 5ft 11 with a stocky build, bald and with a medium-length brown beard.
Officers are urging anyone with information that might help find the men to get in touch.
Rosser's black MG hire car, which has the registration LE75 FNO, was spotted in Glencoe on Tuesday.
Sgt Lewis Macleod said: "Timothy has failed to check in to his pre-booked hotels in the area and it is out of character to not be in touch with his family."
Chalmers began his walk at about 09:15 on Saturday, planning to complete three Munros - Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh and An Stuc.
The last contact from him was at about 12:40 when he messaged to say he had completed two Munros and had one to go.
He was last seen wearing a green and blue triangle-patterned fleece, grey and black waterproof jacket, green walking trousers, blue cap and brown boots.
He was carrying a black rucksack with orange elastic ties.
Insp Iain Gillies said: "We are particularly keen to speak with any fellow hillwalkers who were in the Lawers area on Saturday and may have seen Adam or knows anything which could help pinpoint his location and route."
