Police say more than 100 offences have been detected following a "meet-up" of 700 cars at an Asda car park in Aberdeen last month.

Officers said they included three offences of dangerous driving and 17 involving careless driving.

Police Scotland said many of the drivers were being dealt with under anti-social behaviour legislation.

Insp Steve Manson said the event on 30 May on Garthdee Road had involved "serious disorder".

Two arrests were made and dozens of offences identified last month.

Further offences were detected after police examined CCTV images, social media posts and dashcam footage.

Manson said: "The serious disorder witnessed at the event last month will not be accepted.

"Drivers selfishly put others at risk by carrying out dangerous manoeuvres within the car park."

He added: "Officers stopped each car on the way out of the car park and drivers were identified and captured on body-worn video.

"While they may have thought there would be no repercussions a team of officers have reviewed footage of the event and identified the vehicles involved in the more serious offences."

Manson said the majority of drivers at the meeting had behaved.
