Police officer charged with sexual assault

A serving Thames Valley Police officer has been charged with a count of sexual assault and will appear in court next month.

PC Brendon Dowd was charged with one count of sexual assault by touching of a woman following an incident in St Mary's Butts in Reading on 14 April 2025.

PC Dowd, who is based at Reading police station, has been suspended from duty.

He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on 16 June.
