Primary school in area of fatal stabbing to reopen
Shariqua Ahmed/BBCA primary school in the area where a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed is reopening.
St John's Church School in Riseholme, Peterborough, was closed on Monday but in an email to parents said it was "confident" pupils would be able to return on Tuesday.
The attack happened at about 19:00 BST on Sunday near the Ortongate Shopping Centre.
The teenager, who later died in hospital, has been named locally as Baye Bireme.
The message from the 460-pupil school to parents and carers, sent on Monday and seen by the BBC, said: "We are confident that we can open the school tomorrow as normal."
It added: "The cordon may still be in place, so please take this into account when bringing your children to school."
A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, both from Peterborough, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Two girls aged 16 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The 16-year-old girl, from March in Cambridgeshire, has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
Significant police presence
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: "There is nothing at this time to suggest the attack was racially motivated."
Det Ch Insp Richard Stott, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident which has resulted in the death of a young man, and we are in contact with his family and keeping them updated.
"While we understand the death will be concerning for local people, we do not believe this was a random attack and there will be a significant police presence in the area over coming days."
Anyone with information or who has home CCTV has been urged to contact police.
