Delays at Dover port after pedestrian hit by lorry

A pedestrian has been hit by a lorry near a Kent port overnight with congestion now being reported in the area as police investigate.

The incident happened on the A20 in Dover near the junction with Union Street at about 03:40 BST on Thursday.

Kent Police has advised motorists to consider using the A2 and Jubilee Way to avoid congestion on the A20 in the town.

Travel site Inrix says the A20 southbound is partially blocked in both directions with queuing traffic from Union Street to the A256 York Street, and on Jubilee Way.
