Man charged over 2023 shooting to appear in court

A 26-year-old man will appear in court charged over a shooting incident from three years ago.

Ellis Thornton is accused of intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life. Both charges are in connection with property damage caused by a firearm on Lister Lane in Halifax on 29 January 2023.

Thornton, of Gledhow Wood Avenue in Leeds, was brought back to the UK on Wednesday, having been arrested in the United States on suspicion of other offences.

Thornton is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
