Tech, Iran, and Fed weigh on US shares

US stocks are under pressure at the open this Wednesday, as an ongoing tech sell-off meets growing concerns about inflation and higher borrowing costs. Results from tech giants Meta and Microsoft are due after the bell, amid concerns about the industry's massive bets on AI. Before that, the Federal Reserve, increasingly concerned about inflation, and stoked by higher energy costs as the conflict in the Middle East drags on, will announce its interest rate decision. Investors now think there's at least a one-in-three chance that the Fed will raise borrowing costs today – a decision that would be certain to enrage President Trump.
