Watch: World Cup fans react to Egypt v Iran Pride Match in Seattle

It was an awkward lead-up to the World Cup match between Egypt and Iran in Seattle after the game was designated as a Pride Match.

Despite complaints from the Iranian and Egyptian football federations, countries where homosexuality is illegal, the event still took place on Friday, to celebrate diversity and the LGBTQ+ community.

BBC's Shaimaa Khalil spoke to fans outside the stadium who said it was a great atmosphere.

Pride Weekend was planned before the draw paired the two countries, Seattle host committee officials had previously told the BBC, adding that the answer to discomfort is curiosity rather than retreat.
