Guy Mowbray praises York City hero Keith Walwyn
Match of the Day commentator Guy Mowbray has spoken of his childhood adoration for York City striker Keith Walwyn.
Signed from Chesterfield in 1981 for £4,000, the centre forward played 291 games and scored 140 goals for the Minstermen.
For Black History Month, Mowbray, who was born in York, recounted how Walwyn was "probably my first ever sporting hero".
Walwyn died in 2003, aged 47, but his legacy lives on, with a street named Keith Walwyn Walk on the site of York City's former Bootham Crescent ground.
