Why is there a hosepipe ban?
Months of "outstanding weather" has pushed water demand through the roof, according to South West Water.
The company said all customers in Devon, Cornwall, parts of Dorset and Somerset and the Isles of Scilly should not use hosepipes for certain activities.
These included watering gardens, washing cars, patios and boats or filling up swimming and paddling pools.
Sam Bottomley has urged customers to reduce the amount of water their using, and said "every litre" would help.
