England warned over Azteca altitude challenge

A professional explorer from Devon has warned of issues England players could face in their match against Mexico on Monday, as a result of high altitude.

Hugo Turner, from Christow in Devon, has undertaken a number of extreme adventures, along with his twin brother Ross, including breaking a world altitude record for reaching 8,572ft (2,613m) in the French Alps in a tandem electric paramotor.

Turner said England players could experience some challenges as a result of the altitude such as increased heart rates, heavier breathing and feeling more fatigued than usual.

The Estadio Azteca in Mexico City is 7349ft (2,240m) above sea level.
