Watch: Drone footage shows giant waste tip clearance

Drone footage shows the multi-million pound operation to remove waste from a giant illegal tip.

About 21,000 tonnes of mixed domestic and commercial rubbish was dumped in 2025 between the River Cherwell and the A34 near Kidlington in Oxfordshire.

The largest 150m (490ft)-long pile has been described as "appalling" by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and a criminal investigation is continuing.

The six-month, £7.3m work began on Monday and will be carried out by an Environment Agency contractor,

It will involve the removal of 15-30 lorry loads a day and is expected to take about six months.
