Watch: Helicopter lifts TV mast antenna into place
A helicopter has been used to install a new television antenna as part of a major infrastructure upgrade to broadcast services across the East of England.
Work took place at the Sudbury transmitting station in Suffolk where the helicopter was used to lift materials, which weighed more than three tonnes, 140m (459ft) above the ground.
In total, 12 tonnes of steelwork were removed from the mast to allow the new antenna system to be installed.
The upgrade is designed to improve the resilience of Freeview and radio broadcasts for people across Suffolk, Essex and northern Kent.
