Former church to become new home to circus

A former Grade II* listed church has been set to house circus shows.

Paulo's Circus, which has recently bought Sidwell Street Methodist church in Exeter, Devon, has now been given the approval to change its use.

The historic building and complex would be used as an entertainment venue and community space, applicants said.

Bob Price, property chairman of the Sidwell Street Methodist Church, said the circus "struck us as being the people who not only could keep it going, they could improve it and make it live again".
