First look at pub after scaffolding removed after decades

As work on a 16th Century, Grade II listed timber-framed pub continues, the BBC has been given access to explore inside the building.

The Golden Lion pub, which was relocated to Birmingham's Cannon Hill Park, fell into disrepair in recent years but scaffolding has now been removed after three decades, following repairs.

No-one wanted to run their business from the pub a year ago, the Birmingham Conservation Trust said, but now people were "queuing" up to have discussions as they noticed changes taking place.

"We can't say who's going to run {the building} yet, but this could be your next craft centre, it could be your next restaurant bistro," the trust's Sarah Haynes said.
