Detectives probe death of woman found in Rutherglen flat

Detectives are treating the death of woman in a South Lanarkshire flat as unexplained.

Police Scotland said the woman, who has not been named, was discovered in a property in Newfield Place, Rutherglen, at about 00:45.

A cordon was in place at the scene on Friday as officers spoke to residents and carried out investigations.

A force spokesperson said: "The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing."
