Sean Farrell cleared of abuse at Ampleforth College
Ben Lack Photography A teacher has been cleared of molesting a boy while working at Ampleforth College three decades ago.
Sean Farrell, 49, was accused of abusing the 12-year-old boy while giving music lessons in the 1980s.
He denied four counts of indecent assault and was cleared after a three-day trial at York Crown Court.
The jury was told the accuser broke his silence after being called to sit as a juror on a child abuse case at Sheffield Crown Court.
Mr Farrell insisted he had never laid a finger on the boy and wept as the verdicts were announced.
Leaving court, Mr Farrell said: "I am hugely relieved that my innocence has been established.
"My family and I are looking forward to putting all this behind us."
