A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with stab wounds which could be life-threatening.

Officers were called to reports of a stabbing at a home on Clive Road in Shrewsbury at about 08:30 BST on Sunday and found the man with serious injuries.

The 41-year-old woman remains in custody, said West Mercia Police.

Inquiries were continuing to establish the full circumstances around what happened, said the force.

The Midlands Air Ambulance was sent to the scene along with an ambulance and paramedic officer, said the ambulance service.

The man was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital, said a spokesperson.
