Five teenagers were arrested at Faversham Railway Station

Five teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of robbery following reports a group was moving along trains and threatening people with knives, police say.

British Transport Police (BTP) said it received several reports at about 21:00 BST on Wednesday of young people and adults acting aggressively and antisocially towards people on different trains from Margate in Kent to London.

A smaller group of teenagers was also reported to have been threatening people with knives and attempting to rob them, using violence to take phones and valuables, BTP added.

Police said officers went to Faversham Railway Station and five teenagers aged between 15 and 17 were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Anyone with information which could help police is asked to contact the force.
