A man has been charged over the death of a grandmother who was killed in a motorbike crash while crossing the road with her grandchild.

Gillian Livingstone, 76, from Cleator Moor, died on Ennerdale Road in Cleator Moor on Tuesday, Cumbria Police said.

The child is still in a stable condition in hospital after receiving a serious head injury.

Kieran Yorke, 22, from Egremont, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and will appear at Workington Magistrates' Court later.

Two other men, aged 22 and 23 respectively, have been bailed pending further inquiries.
