A pop-up arts venue which attracted thousands of visitors during Bradford's year as UK City of Culture is set to return this summer.

The Beacon touring arts hub was created for Bradford 2025 and moved between four green spaces in the district.

Wibsey Park in the south-west of Bradford hosted The Beacon from April to May last year, hosting dozens of events and attracting more than 9,000 people.

Bradford Culture Company, the organisation that runs The Beacon, confirmed it would return to the same park in August, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Community groups will be invited to host events at the venue alongside concerts and events organised by Bradford 2025.

During the culture year, the venue also visited Bradford's Bowling Park, Lister Park and Cliffe Castle Park in Keighley.

It hosted concerts by folk artist Eliza Carthy and jazz singer Jacqui Dankworth, storytelling by CBeebies presenters, den-building sessions and open mic nights.

Detail of what is planned for the venue in 2026 will be published in the coming weeks.
