Hare coursing charges dropped against six men

Six men have had hare coursing charges against them dropped.

Officers responded to reports of cars reportedly involved in the illegal activity near Ludgershall, Wiltshire, in April. One vehicle was stopped by police following a pursuit on the A303 in Hampshire.

Paddy Cash, Patrick Connors, John Nicholson, Albert Smith, Joseph Smith and Nathan Smith had the charge of being equipped for, searching for or pursuing hares with dogs withdrawn after a hearing at Swindon Magistrates' Court earlier.

Tommy Frankham, from Bushey in Hertfordshire, still faces the charge and he was remanded on unconditional bail until a further hearing at the magistrates' court on 7 December 2027.

Charges were dropped against the following men:

Paddy Cash, 20, of Watling Farm Close, Stanmore, near London

Patrick Connors, 27, of Devonshire Green, Farnham Royal, Slough

John Nicholson, 20, of Northlands, Royston, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Joseph Smith, 25, of Leatherhead, Surrey

Albert Smith, 25, of Woodstock Lane South, Chessington, Surrey

Nathan Smith, 18, of Chalfont Road, Chalfont Saint Giles, Buckinghamshire
