Two boys who were riding bikes have been taken to hospital after a collision which also involved a van, police have said.

Emergency services were called to Altcross Road in Croxteth shortly after the collision, which happened at just before 16:35 BST on Tuesday, said Merseyside Police.

A 13-year-old suffered non-life threatening leg injuries while a 10-year-old was reportedly discharged into the care of his parent and driven to hospital. His condition has not been revealed.

The driver of the white Vauxhall van stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. Police have asked anyone with further information or dashcam footage to contact them.
