Woman in her 40s dies following house fire

A woman has died after sustaining severe burns in a house fire.

Emergency services were called to a report of a fire at a property on Attlebridge Way in Kingsway, Gloucestershire, at about 17:25 BST on Wednesday.

A woman in her 40s was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, but died later that evening, police said.

The force added that they do not believe the death is suspicious, but the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

A cordon remains in place at the scene for police and the fire service to conduct their investigations once the structure is deemed safe.
