A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a car at a city centre junction.

The man, in his 60s, was declared dead at the scene after being struck by the vehicle at the junction of Ring Road and Stafford Street in Wolverhampton on Monday evening.

"Sadly, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene," West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The driver remained at the scene to help officers with inquiries, West Midlands Police said, adding they would like anyone in the area at the time to get in touch, especially if they had dash-cam footage.
