Biker who failed to stop for police dies in crash
BBCA motorcyclist who failed to stop for police has died in a crash in Wakefield.
The rider failed to stop for officers on Barnsley Road at about 01:00 BST on Friday, West Yorkshire Police said.
Before a pursuit could be authorised, the motorbike hit street furniture near the junction of Sycamore Close and a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed a mandatory referral had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
