A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a man's coat was reportedly stolen at knifepoint in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the man was walking through Vernon Park, Basford, at about 17:30 BST on Sunday when he was struck on the back of the head before being further assaulted and having a high-value coat prised off him.

The force said the man - who sustained injuries to his leg and head - was reportedly threatened with a knife by an individual, who then left the scene with his coat.

Officers said a 14-year-old boy was detained on Wednesday morning.
